France Announce Friendlies Against Brazil and Colombia in the US Ahead of the World Cup
Deschamps takes France to America early — Brazil and Colombia await in the ultimate World Cup warmup.
Les Bleus are heading to America early — and the opponents couldn't be more serious.
France will play Brazil in Boston and Colombia in Florida during the March international window, the French Football Federation confirmed. It's a bold pre-World Cup statement from Les Bleus, taking on two of the tournament's top contenders on the very soil where it all happens this summer.
FFF president Philippe Diallo was clear about the reasoning: "I think it's the right opportunity, since the World Cup will be held there." Two further friendlies are also planned for June — ideally on home soil, giving Didier Deschamps a proper farewell to the French public before he steps down after the tournament.
For France, it's the perfect dress rehearsal. For Colombia, it could be a preview of things to come.
