Mbappé's Knee Injury: A Real Threat to His 2026 World Cup Participation
Mbappé's injury is worse than reported — and with 100 days to the World Cup, France are sweating.
With 100 days until the World Cup, France's talisman doesn't have a single one to spare.
Kylian Mbappé's knee problem is more serious than Real Madrid are letting on — and the timing could not be worse. Journalist Antón Meana dropped a bombshell on El Larguero, revealing that Mbappé's left posterior cruciate ligament is "at its limit," warning that despite the official 'sprain' label, the injury is truly significant.
"He needs all 100 of those 100 days to recover and be ready to play in the World Cup," Meana said — adding that Mbappé's entourage are in no rush to take any risks with his return.
For Didier Deschamps, it's an anxious wait. A World Cup without a fully fit Mbappé is a very different proposition for France.
